The Ferrari 458 Flambé


The end of August is a quiet time for the mainstream news. Newspapers need to fill column inches and what better way than to report that Ferraris latest model has been recalled after a spate of fires now traced to the glue used to fix the inner wheel arch liners. All the mainstream press have run the story after five 458s went up in flames (I'm not sure if this includes the one which was destroyed in a warehouse fire at Heathrow airport), and CNN's Quest Means Business ran a feature on it.

One Million Pound Car list


What cars would you buy if you had a million pounds to spend on cars? The question came up over lunch last Sunday, prompted by a discussion on the recent large wins on the Euro millions. You would think it would be an easy question to answer but then I realised that many of my dream cars for example the Mclaren F1, Ferrari 275 Nart Spyder or Alfa 2900 would cost considerably more than that even in today's recessionary climate.

Michael Schumacher on the Ferrari 458 Italia



Now that he has retired from F1, Michael Schumacher seems to spend his time either sitting on the pit wall and telling Kimi Raikkonen that he would have been quicker or developing new road Ferraris. Here is Ferrari world's video of his comments on the 458 Italia. Not sure if his stilted English shows the car in it's best light but looks like it will be an epic drive.
