Sunday saw an informal gathering of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maserati's at the stately home turned Hotel, Cliveden House in Berkshire.
The cars were lined up along either side of the drive up to the House with the more numerous Ferraris on one side, and the Lamborghinis and Maseratis, along with a smattering of other cars on the other. A small display of the rarer or older cars (headed by my Daytona were parked directly in front of the house as shown in photo in previous blog).
The vast majority of the cars were modern examples of the respective marques with only my Daytona, a Lusso and a 365GTC4 representing the more classic Ferraris. There were no classic Maseratis at all, and the only classic Lambo was an eighties era Countach. I was personally disappointed at this, as I had hoped to see an Islero or other early front engined Lamborghini as these have piqued my interest lately.
Having said that the modern cars from all of the marques made an impressive display which seemed to be appreciated by the many of the general public visiting Cliveden (the grounds are run by the National Trust and open to the public). Of particular interest was the HR Owen, Ferrari 458 demonstrator (as seen at last week's Supercar Sunday) and a 430 Spider sporting an England flag generated a smile from some.
Off the other cars attending a rare Mercedes CLK DTM cabriolet and a bizarre looking but presumably extremely quick Skelta stood out.
Overall a very pleasant day at a nice location and another welcome opportunity to give the Daytona some excercise.
